My bathroom looks like it's turned into a salon. Truthfully, I feel absolutely ridiculous letting Olivia do this, but now I know why her suitcases were so heavy. I think she brought an entire cosmetics store with her.

"This is just one of the awesome perks of my job," she says. "I get all the good, expensive stuff for free."

Candace watches as Olivia works her magic. Both Olivia and I are surprised when Candace asks her to do her makeup as well. It's mostly surprising because she's never really worn much makeup and also because she's asking Olivia to do it for her. We've really come a long way in the past few days.

"Of course," Olivia says. She looks at me and raises her eyebrows. It's obvious that she's pleased by Candace's request.

Candace excitedly digs through the piles of makeup. She looks like a kid in a candy store.

"Wow. You're really good," I exclaim as soon as I see myself in the mirror. "Maybe you should do this for a living. I mean I know you're used to having your makeup done for you, but you have a real talent."

She gives me a grateful smile. "Believe it or not, I've thought about it. I've learned so many tricks over the years that I think I would enjoy it. And you never know, my modeling career may be over anyway, so it's good to have options."

I notice her voice crack at the mention of her career being over. "Well, you never know. Just because it's been slow doesn't mean something isn't right around the corner waiting for you."

She nods. "That's true."

I fan my face with my hands. I can feel myself start to sweat as the time gets closer to seeing Gavin. This is crazy. I'm sitting in my parents' house doing makeovers with childhood best friends, getting ready to meet a guy. I feel like I've traveled back in a time machine.

Olivia is quietly doing Candace's makeup, and I really should take a picture of this because it will probably never happen again. Before we know it, the three of us are ready for a night out on the town. I'm wearing a short, fuchsia-colored dress that's been in the back of my closet for ages, with nude wedges. It fits me perfectly now thanks to my emotional dieting following the divorce. Candace is wearing dark blue skinny jeans paired with a black shirt with a plunging neckline. Of course, Olivia looks like she just stepped off a runway in a pair of flare white jeans and a turquoise baby doll shirt.

"Look at you three. I need to take a picture," my mother exclaims.

I'm about to object, but this will probably be the only chance to have a picture together, so we each give her our phones.

Here I go. Ugh. I feel like throwing up.
